The Auld Smiddy
The Auld Smiddy is situated in the beautiful village of Moulin less than one mile from the bustling town of Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire. The newly refurbished cottage was originally a blacksmith's cottage and workshop. The original flat stones can still be seen across the stream from the back garden.
The cottage has a cosy sitting room where we found a stone fireplace and restored it to its former glory. There is a log burner for those cold winter nights! The fully equipped kitchen where you can dine in the adjoining sun room at the rear of the cottage. French doors lead out onto the enclosed private garden with decking and BBQ area. It is very peaceful and relaxing to sit out and enjoy the sounds of the stream and the birds singing in the surrounding trees. A real sun trap when Scottish weather allows!
There are three bedrooms in the cottage - one double bedroom downstairs with en-suite and one double and a twin bedroom upstairs with shared en-suite.
Every care has been taken for guests' comfort and enjoyment. The Auld Smiddy is beside the award winning Moulin Inn established in 1695 which has its own micro brewery and serves food.
The cottage is within walking distance of Pitlochry which has a good Co-op, butcher and deli as well as a range of shops, cafes, restaurants, take-aways and lively pubs.
The Auld Smiddy at Moulin is the perfect base forexploring the beautiful scenery of Highland Perthshire and beyond, with Ben Vrackie on its doorstep and the Cairngorm Natinal Park only a short drive away.

The accommodation has a no-smoking policy.
